The exhibition, curated by Stephanie James, provided a platform for the ‘meeting’ of two art institutions in Bournemouth: the then Arts Institute at Bournemouth, in conjunction with TheGallery’s text+work programme, and the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum. The project invited artists and designers to create artwork in response to the unique and varied collections in the Russell-Cotes Museum and to exhibit the work for a period of four months. Artists involved included: Simon Granell, Eric Butcher, Lisa Richardson, Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva, Anne Marie Howat, Tim Edgar, Tom Hall, Debra Swann, Julia Flatman, Al Gebra, Poor Photographer, Yuya Nitta, Christian Edwardes, Julie Marsh, nomethod, Peter Symons, Mark Orton, Mike Griffiths, Jim Hunter, Roy Brown,Dominic Shepherd, Les Buckingham, Jackie Sarafopoulos and Jared Wood. The publication includes documentation of the work accompanied by short explanatory texts by the artists.
